Casablanca Airport to the City: Train, Taxi, and Which Terminal

Most arrivals at Mohammed V get the same two options, and the choice is easier than it looks. There is a train station underneath the terminal, and there is a rank of taxis outside it. The train has a published price. The taxi does not.

Which terminal you land at matters

Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) sits about 30 kilometres south of central Casablanca. The railway station is beneath Terminal 1. If you land at Terminal 2, take the shuttle between the terminals first, then follow the signs down to the platforms.

Work out which terminal you are arriving at before you land. It is on your booking, and it decides whether you walk to the train or ride between buildings first.

The train is the default

The service runs from the airport to Casa-Voyageurs, Casablanca’s main intercity station, and takes approximately 30 minutes. The fare is 50 MAD in 2nd class or 70 MAD in 1st class. These figures come from ONDA, the national airport authority, checked in September 2026.

That is the whole appeal. It is a fixed, published price for a journey with no traffic risk attached to it, arriving at the station that most onward services leave from. Note that the airport line runs to Casa-Voyageurs, not Casa-Port. They are different stations, and the difference matters if your hotel booking mentions one of them.

On the schedule, check rather than trust

Published first and last departure times for this line vary between sources, and none of the ones that disagree is the operator. Rather than repeat a figure that may be wrong on the day you travel, check the current timetable in the ONCF app or at oncf-voyages.ma before you commit to the train.

This matters most for a late arrival or a very early departure. If the app shows nothing useful for your slot, that is your answer, and the taxi becomes the option rather than the fallback.

Buy your ticket at the counter or a machine before boarding.

The taxi, and the number you agree first

Taxi fares from Mohammed V into the city are commonly cited in the range of 250 to 350 MAD during the day, with a surcharge at night. Treat that as a reference point, not a quoted price: no official source publishes it, and it is not a meter reading you can hold a driver to.

So do what you would do for any unmetered ride in Morocco — agree the fare explicitly before you get in, and before your luggage goes in the boot. Say the number out loud and get a yes. A fare that is still being discussed when the car is moving is a fare you have already lost.

The range above tells you when to push back. A number well above it at midday is worth questioning; a higher number late at night is not by itself unreasonable. If you are driving on from the airport

If the plan is to pick up a car rather than head into the city, the rental desks are at the airport and the decision set is a different one — insurance, deposits, road conditions and which agencies to trust. One thing worth deciding before you land: if you are spending your first night in Casablanca and only driving afterwards, collecting the car when you leave the city is usually easier than parking it overnight in the centre.

Take the train if the timetable covers your arrival: it is about 30 minutes, the price is fixed and published, and it puts you at the station your onward train leaves from. Take a taxi if the schedule does not work for your flight, and agree the fare before the doors close.

Check two things before you travel — the terminal you are arriving at, and the day’s ONCF timetable. Both take a minute, and between them they decide which of these two options you are actually choosing.
