MoroccoMag (“we,” “us”) publishes travel and expat guides for Morocco at moroccomag.com. This page explains what information we collect and what we do with it.
What we collect
If you sign up for our newsletter: we collect your email address. That’s it. We don’t ask for your name, location, or anything else to subscribe.
Your email is stored and managed by our email service provider, MailerLite. Depending on which signup form you use (our “Visiting” or “Living” guides), you’re added to the corresponding list, which just determines which guides we might mention to you. It isn’t a different privacy arrangement.
If you use our tools or browse guides: the Cost of Living Calculator, Neighborhood Explorer, and Darija Phrasebook all run entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter into them is sent to us or stored anywhere.
Analytics: Cloudflare, our host, keeps its own aggregate traffic and performance statistics automatically; this doesn’t identify you and runs regardless of any choice you make here. We also use Google Analytics, but only with your consent: nothing loads and nothing is sent to Google until you choose “Accept analytics” in the banner shown on your first visit, or later from “Analytics Preferences” in the footer. Declining, or not deciding, means Google Analytics never loads, and the site works exactly the same either way. Once accepted, it tells us things like overall visit counts and whether a handful of specific features got used (an internal link click, a directory listing’s website link, a tool’s genuine use), never your name, email, search terms, calculator inputs, or which nationality, city or category you picked. You can withdraw consent at any time from “Analytics Preferences,” which stops any further use, though a Google cookie already set will remain until it expires on its own.
Who else sees this data
MailerLite (our email provider) processes your email address to send our newsletter and manage subscriptions. Their own privacy policy governs how they handle it: MailerLite’s Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare hosts this website. Like any web host, they process standard technical data (IP addresses, browser type) needed to serve you the page. This is infrastructure-level data, not something we access or use for tracking.
Google processes standard analytics data (pages viewed, general device and browser type) only if you accept analytics, as described above. Their own privacy policy governs how they handle it: Google’s Privacy Policy.
Unsplash hosts the photos on this site on its own servers, not ours. Loading a page with an image means your browser requests that image directly from Unsplash, the same way it would from any image CDN.
We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone else for marketing purposes.
Your rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email we send. If you’d like your email address deleted from our list entirely, or want to know exactly what data we hold about you, email contact@moroccomag.com and we’ll handle it.
If you’re in the EU or UK, you have rights under GDPR including access, correction, deletion, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, note it on the homepage.
