What’s On in Morocco in November 2026: Film, Music, Art and Events

November 2026 has one obvious national headline: the Marrakech International Film Festival, which takes over the city for nine days late in the month. But it is not the only reason to plan around the calendar. Rabat and Nador have film events earlier in November, Marrakech has a coffee and tea festival and an Agafay trail weekend, and museum exhibitions remain open in Tangier, Casablanca and Marrakech.
This is a curated list, not a complete national calendar. We prioritise dates supported by organisers, official tourism bodies, cultural institutions or established ticketing platforms. Programmes and ticket availability can still change, so check the linked organiser before making a trip around one event.
30 October–4 November: International Festival of Cinema and Common Memory in Nador
Nador · cinema
The Moroccan Cinematographic Center lists Nador’s International Festival of Cinema and Common Memory from 30 October to 4 November 2026. It is one of the events that crosses into the first week of November rather than fitting neatly inside the month.
Check the Moroccan Cinematographic Center festival calendar before travelling for a specific screening or session.
7–13 November: Rabat International Author Film Festival
Rabat · cinema · multiple days
The Moroccan Cinematographic Center lists the Rabat International Author Film Festival for 7–13 November 2026. For visitors already in the capital, it gives the first half of November a substantial cultural anchor before the larger Marrakech festival later in the month.
Use the CCM festival calendar to reconfirm the dates, then check the festival or venue programme before choosing a particular screening.
14–16 November: Marrakech Coffee & Tea Festival
Marrakech · food and drink culture · Mossalla Sidi Amara
The official Marrakech tourism calendar lists the Marrakech Coffee & Tea Festival from 14 to 16 November 2026 at Mossalla Sidi Amara, on the Route de l’Agdal / Route de l’Ourika.
This is a useful mid-month option if your Marrakech dates fall before the film festival. Check the official Marrakech events calendar for programme updates before going.
20–22 November: Trail Desert Agafay
Agafay, Marrakech region · trail running
The official Marrakech tourism calendar lists the sixth Trail Desert Agafay for 20–22 November 2026. The dates overlap the opening weekend of the Marrakech International Film Festival, so this is less a reason to combine two events than a reminder that accommodation and transport demand around Marrakech may be busier than an ordinary November weekend.
Check the official Marrakech tourism event listings for the latest event information.
20–28 November: Marrakech International Film Festival
Marrakech · international cinema · 23rd edition
The 23rd Marrakech International Film Festival runs from 20 to 28 November 2026. The festival’s own site confirms the dates, and the Moroccan Cinematographic Center lists the same period.
This is November’s strongest event to build an entire Marrakech stay around. The festival combines its official competition with screenings, tributes and encounters around international and Moroccan cinema. The detailed programme and access arrangements matter more than a generic festival description, so check the official festival site as your dates approach.
MoroccoMag also has a dedicated Marrakech Film Festival 2026 guide for the practical planning context.
November exhibitions worth knowing about
If your dates do not line up with a festival, several museum exhibitions continue through November.
In Tangier, the Fondation Nationale des Musées lists Mohamed Lekleti’s Ne tenir qu’à un fil at the Musée de la Kasbah – Espace d’art contemporain through 30 November 2026.
In Casablanca, Mustapha Boujemaoui : la poétique des formes remains at Villa Carl Ficke, Musée de la Mémoire de Casablanca, through 30 November 2026.
In Marrakech, the Mohamed Nabili exhibition at Jamaâ El-Fna, Musée du Patrimoine Immatériel continues beyond November, through 15 February 2027.
Check the Fondation Nationale des Musées exhibition listings for opening information and any programme changes.
Live shows: useful November dates
Established Moroccan ticketing listings also show a run of one-night events during November. These are more volatile than a festival date, so treat them as options to check rather than anchors for non-refundable travel.
Among the listings checked in early October were Guy Manoukian at the Théâtre Royal de Rabat on 5 November, La Grande Soirée Gnawa on 7 November, Yassar in Marrakech on 14 November, Manal Benchlikha in Casablanca on 21 November, and several shows in Rabat, Fes and Marrakech later in the month.
Use the current Events.ma listings for availability and prices. A sold-out, moved or cancelled one-night show should not break the rest of your itinerary.
If you only have one November weekend
For cinema, 20–22 November is the obvious choice because it catches the opening weekend of the Marrakech International Film Festival. If you prefer a quieter Marrakech weekend, 14–16 November puts the Coffee & Tea Festival in the middle of the trip without the film-festival overlap.
For Rabat, the 7–8 November weekend falls during the International Author Film Festival. For museum-focused travel, you do not need to chase one weekend: the Tangier and Casablanca exhibitions run through the end of the month.
Keep geography in charge of the plan. A national events list is useful for choosing a city, not for turning a weekend into a race between them.
Accuracy note: dates and practical details were checked on 6 October 2026 against the Marrakech International Film Festival, the Moroccan Cinematographic Center, the official Marrakech tourism calendar, the Fondation Nationale des Musées and established ticketing listings. Programmes, prices and availability can change. Always confirm with the organiser or venue before travelling or buying non-refundable transport.
