Marrakech International Film Festival Confirmed for 20 to 28 November

The Marrakech International Film Festival has confirmed its 23rd edition for 20 to 28 November 2026, nine days in the second half of the month.

Public e-passes open on 26 October

The official accreditation portal says public registration opens on 26 October 2026. Applicants must be over 18. Once an application is validated, the festival emails an e-pass and app access code.

The pass offers free access to films and conversations, subject to the festival’s access conditions. Check the programme, venue and admission arrangements for the session you want to attend.

Outdoor screenings

The festival has an established tradition of free public screenings on Jemaa el-Fna, the main square. A large screen goes up, and several thousand people watch a film in the open air in a space otherwise occupied by orange juice carts and storytellers. It appears in the festival’s general description of itself.

Whether it runs in 2026, on which nights, and with what programming are all unpublished. The tradition is real. The 2026 confirmation is not.

Why the dates alone are still useful

Marrakech in late November sits around 20°C in the daytime and cools sharply in the evening, well away from the summer heat that makes the city hard work.

If you were already considering a Marrakech trip and the festival appeals, the dates are now firm enough to plan travel around, with the caveat that what you will actually be able to attend is not yet clear.
