What’s On in Morocco in October 2026: Festivals, Concerts and Events

October is unusually busy across Morocco in 2026. Electronic music opens the month on the Atlantic, Rabat has several large live shows, Fès turns to Sufi music and poetry, and Marrakech closes the month with four days of international folklore.

This is a curated list, not a complete calendar. We have prioritised events with dates that can be checked against organisers, venues or established ticketing partners. Programmes can still change, so use the linked official organiser or venue before making a trip around one event.

30 September–4 October — MOGA Essaouira

Essaouira · electronic music · free city programme + ticketed festival

MOGA celebrates its tenth Essaouira edition over five days. MOGA OFF runs on 30 September and 1 October at locations around the city with free access. MOGA IN, from 2 to 4 October, is the ticketed part at Hôtel Le Golf d’Essaouira & Spa in Diabat.

2–3 October — Dance Theatre of Harlem in Rabat

The Dance Theatre of Harlem opens the Grand Théâtre de Rabat’s October programme with performances on 2 and 3 October. It is an unusually strong international booking for the capital and a good alternative if electronic music in Essaouira is not your thing.

7–29 October — Iqtibās tours nine Moroccan cities

Essaouira → Agadir → Marrakech → El Jadida → Casablanca → Meknès → Tétouan → Tangier → Rabat · theatre, dance and slam

Sarah M.’s Iqtibās is one of the month’s more useful events to know about because it is not confined to Casablanca or Marrakech. The French Institute tour starts in Essaouira on 7–8 October and finishes in Rabat on 28–29 October, with stops in seven other cities between them.

The performance mixes theatre, dance, live music, French and Darija and is listed for audiences aged 14 and over. Institut français du Maroc has the full city-by-city dates.

9 October — Kadim Al Sahir in Rabat

Rabat · concert · Grand Théâtre de Rabat

Kadim Al Sahir performs on the outdoor esplanade of the Grand Théâtre de Rabat on Friday 9 October, accompanied by the Royal Symphony Orchestra. The venue says the outdoor setup is expected to accommodate more than 5,000 spectators.

13–18 October — Salon du Cheval d’El Jadida

El Jadida · equestrian sport and culture

The 17th Salon du Cheval runs from 13 to 18 October at the Parc d’Expositions Mohammed VI. The official programme combines equestrian competitions, demonstrations and Morocco’s horse traditions, with the Morocco Royal Tour among the sporting highlights.

It is one of October’s strongest family-day options outside the concert/festival circuit. Check the official Salon du Cheval site for the latest programme and practical information.

15–18 October — Biennale Euro-Africa in Casablanca

Casablanca · Anfa Park · music, urban sport, fashion, visual arts and literature · free entry

The Euro-Africa Biennale moves from Montpellier to Casablanca for four days at Anfa Park. The organisers describe a cross-disciplinary programme connecting African and European artists through music, urban sports, fashion, visual arts and literature.

The dates and free admission are confirmed, but the full programme was still being released when this guide was checked. Treat this as one to watch rather than planning around an unannounced artist. Biennale Euro-Africa.

17–24 October — Fès Festival of Sufi Culture and World Wisdom

Fès · music, poetry and talks · multiple venues

The 18th edition runs under the theme “Mystical poetry, an elixir of healing.” Events take place around Fès, including Bab El Makina, Jnan Sbil and medina venues, with Sufi traditions from Morocco and abroad alongside poetry and discussion.

The festival sells individual event tickets as well as a full pass. The opening concert at Bab El Makina is scheduled for 17 October, with Nabyla Maan among the participants. See the official festival programme before choosing dates.

22–25 October — Marrakech Folklore Days

Marrakech · traditional music, dance and crafts

International folk groups return to Marrakech from 22 to 25 October for four days of performances, parades, workshops and traditional crafts. The organisers frame the festival around living heritage, cultural exchange and peace.

22–25 October — Taghazout Surf Expo

Taghazout · Anchor Point · surf culture, industry and music

The fifth Taghazout Surf Expo takes over a temporary village at Anchor Point from 22 to 25 October. It is partly an industry event — brands, shapers, surf schools, camps and tourism businesses — but the public programme also includes workshops, talks and free open-air concerts and DJ sets.

For surfers or anyone already planning an Agadir/Taghazout weekend, this is an easy event to build around. Dates and programme overview are on the official Surf Expo site.

22 October — Amal & Mazzika Orchestra in Rabat

Rabat · Théâtre National Mohammed V · 20:00 · from 250 MAD

Violinist and conductor Amal performs Arabic classics with the Mazzika Orchestra at Théâtre National Mohammed V. Doors are listed for 19:30, with the concert at 20:00.

29 and 31 October — This Is Michael and Mo Amer in Rabat

Rabat · Grand Théâtre de Rabat

The Grand Théâtre’s October programme closes with This Is Michael on 29 October, a live Michael Jackson tribute production led by Lenny Jay, followed by comedian Mo Amer on 31 October. Both are listed by the venue with booking links.

Because ticket availability can change quickly, use the Grand Théâtre de Rabat listing rather than a secondary event calendar.

If you only have one October weekend

For music and nightlife, the opening weekend in Essaouira is the obvious cluster because MOGA concentrates five days into one trip. For a broader cultural weekend, 17–18 October gives Fès the opening of its Sufi festival while Casablanca has the Euro-Africa Biennale underway. On 22–25 October, Marrakech Folklore Days and Taghazout Surf Expo give you two very different options in the south.

Do not try to combine distant cities simply because dates overlap. Morocco’s event calendar is national; your weekend does not need to be.
